Default Re: NATIONAL HEALTH INFORMATION EXCHANGE CLOSER TO REALITY -- 03-21-2008 #4

Like the post states, I am not sure I trust this...I would like to think that the information will be beneficial to the individual. But this does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling. I see so many times when information is used against Servicmembers to deny benefits. Within the military and the VA, this could have consequences for denial of benefits. For private insurers, this could result in denial of coverage. It seems that most of the benefit accrues to "society" (or read HMO's, manged care, and health business).

We'll have to see how this shakes out, but I also don't think any of this will be voluntary.
