I just signed off on my DA Form 199 with the following ratings
PTSD 100%; TBI 30%; 30% right shoulder; 20% left shoulder; 10% right knee; 10% left knee with all injuries being comabt related. Do I receive both medical retirement pay and VA (rated 100%) pay. I can't get an answer from anyone so any assistance would be appreciated.

Yes you do. Check articles on this site regarding CRSC. A number of posts here that will answer details of your questions.

Does this mean I get four paychecks? This is so confusing to me.

You will be receiving the higher of the VA or DOD medical disability, not both. If you elect VA, you might get something back through CRSC if less than 20yrs or CRDP if 20 or over. You can apply for social security and if you qualify you will get a check from them. Once you leave the service, you can apply for unemployment benefits.

I appreciate all the research everyone has done but this is my point...even in two out of six responses I get conflicting information. What is the correct answer? Thank you all...

supplydog. I suppose I misspoke when I commented on your question. This is a confusing issue. I was answering your multiple checks question. Look at the DFAS Retirement and Annuitant pay site. This is from that site regarding multiple payments: I received more than one payment. Is this correct?
Yes, this is correct. You may receive more than one payment if your retroactive period of increased award includes entitlement to CRSC and CRDP. In this case, separate payments will be issued for the CRSC (non-taxable) and CRDP (taxable) payment. Another reason for multiple payments is that you are due monies from both DFAS and DVA. Each agency is responsible for issuing payment of their portion of the entitlement. Lastly, DVA may have made a subsequent determination regarding your disability and/or unemployability rating that entitles you to additional monies.
A member of the TDRL or the PDRL is a retired member of the armed forces. You remain entitled to all rights and privileges of the retired status, which may include:
    • Participation in Survivor Benefit Plans
    • Voluntary/involuntary allotments from your retired pay
    • Disability compensation from the Department of Veterans Affairs
If you meet the requirements for a non-disability retirement you may also qualify for Combat-Related Special Compensation or Concurrent Retirement and Disability Pay.

It is difficult to answer your question with a direct answer, various factors not included in your question, individual unemployablitiy and retroactive VA awards. Remember CRSC is an offset amount.

Again I apologize if my first reply detonated more confusion.
