Hey everyone just had a question about TAMP. I have spoke to tricare DEERS and IPac outbound about this. IPac told me that I am eligible depending on the seperation code I get on my DD214. Anyone happen to know the codes you need to be eligible? I will most likely be seperation with severance, so I should I eligible correct?

Thanks for the help!

If you are being medically involuntarily separated, you qualify for TAMP benefits. The benefits will begin the day after you are officially discharged. While on terminal leave, permissive TDY, you are still considered Active Duty and you are still covered 100% by TRICARE.

Nope, you will be covered by TAMP if you are being involuntarily separated. That includes your family. Just make sure you are enrolled wherever you decide to live. Tricare would probably know more. I received a small pamphlet at one of the briefings I attended this past year. I thought I was medically retiring so I tossed it, but now will be enrolling once my permissive TDY and terminal leave are up.

So what about dental? I that still covered during our 6 months post discharge? Or only medical?

During TAMP coverage, you can be seen at a military dental facility on a space-available basis. I think that is the only way you get Dental coverage with TAMP.

Oh man.....

I only live 140 miles - one way - from the nearest military dental clinic.

My TAMP expires in early OCT 2012.....

How do I get in to see dental for my teeth?

civilian or otherwise....

I need dental badly! Was NOT seen during AD for at leat 1 1/2 years!

Discharged mid-APR 2012.....

Did you retire or receive severance? I thought you retired. If you retired, you are eligible for the Enhanced TRICARE Retiree Dental Program.

So I have talked to tricare, DEERS, and IPAC outbound. No one seems to know the code on your DD214 that's needed for TAMP. Tricare says I may not even be eligible even after I showed then my findings of 10%. Sorry its very stressful not knowing until I have my DD/14 considering at that point it will be to late to request PLD. Is anyone else able to shed some light on this matter?

FWIW, the dentist that completed my dental VA C&P exam told me that you can also use them during your 6 month post-separation phase.
