Packet made it to Ft Lewis
My packet is up at IPEB in Fort Lewis. My PEBLO told me to expect about 3 to 4 weeks for an answer back. Hope all goes well. Ive been schooling myself on the VASRD to make sure they rate correctly. I also did go ahead and submit a COAD request as I felt it wouldnt hurt my case and I have over 17 years of active duty and a few more should not finish me off. On my AKO under the PEB tab it states Fort Lewis got the paperwork on the 30th of SEP. I did pick up on a couple small errors on the DA 3947 like my number of years says 23. I do have 23 but it is 17 active and 6 in the reserves so I hope this wont screw up anything. My conditions that fail retention standards are:
Coronary Artey disease ( I did do a treadmill test and even though it says in the regs that someone with an ejection fraction of less than 50% does not have to take one, my doc said he needed it to complete his NARSUM. I got up to 7 mets but my ejection fraction is still at 36% so that should fall under the VASRD code for 60%. The VASRD states clearly the word OR so I will use that as a point of contention should I need to go with the formal board)
Ateriosclerois in both legs. ( ABI is less than 1.0 and rates at 20% per leg. This is where I ghet confused on how to apply the bilateral factor)( My ABI are .81 in the right and .78 in the left)
Diabetes Melitus type 2. (So far controled with diet and excersise but still rates at 10% in the VASRD)
Well the wait is on and Im fine as long the board does it's job correctly and within the law. If I get to stay on active Im also fine with that as my 20 year mark is fast approaching but Im not that hopeful with these conditions.
I'll stay in touch and let you know how it turns out.
