Physical Evaluation Board Forum

Hi;

I'm MSgt Marisel Munoz from the Puerto Rico Air National Guard. I'm in the process of a medical discharge and my papers where rejected from IPEB until I visit an Active Duty Doctor in USA. I'm very anxious and need information about this process. If anyone can help me I will appreciate it.

Thank You. What I don't understand is why IPEB rejected my package until further medical appointment with a phsyciatrist, because I was reading what you sent me and in the IPEB determination rejection is not specified. I think I just have to wait until the appointment. I have major depressive disorder and have 10% compensation by VA. I also receive a positive screen by VA for military sexual trauma. The AF is so complicated; I just want to finish this painful process!

Sorry to hear about your trauma. I can't know for sure without seeing your file, but I suspect the diagnosis is missing or incomplete in your file. Having a psychiatrist diagnose the condition is required by the regulations. If you did not have a previous diagnosis using the DSM-IV criteria, they need that to process your case. I would not be worried based on that. As long as your conditions are unfitting and incurred while entitled to basic pay (and not EPTS) you will be compensated.
