I'll try to keep my story short. Active Duty Army E-7. 17 years active and 6 years in Army reserves. 23 for pay. Open heart surgery in October 2007. Double bypass.(CAD) I dont recommend this surgery. Hurt like hell and still is painful. I also have a blockage in my right leg (PAD) between the femoral and Illiac ateries that has not been bypassed yet. This is what led to the finding of the heart problem originally. Bad circulation in legs causing pain while doing any aerobic activity. Doc gave me a permanent profile of 313111. I cant do any alternate events because she feels Im at risk of dislodging the blockage in my right leg. This is what led to the referal to the MEB. I am a Career Counselor and mostly Im at a desk. While not a physically demanding MOS it is very stressful and I have found myself lately not thinking to clearly and losing attention to details. I think I have a little anxiety and maybe some depression associated with the surgery but it has not gotten easier. I have insomnia about 4 nights a week and my sleeping paterns are all over the map. I also have back pain and my wrists and elbows frequntly hurt. I do a lot of typing and writing. My right foot has been diagnosed with Morton's Nueroma (pinched nerve) and I had a few profiles for this also. My question is what is your opinion of getting a fit for duty from the MEB based on my limitations. I am not sure at this time that I want to stay but 3 years I can get the LOS retirement. I really would like to move on however and get on with life. 23 years in uniform is enough for me. Thanks for the warm welcome and I wish all that going through this process, the best of luck. You are definately not alone.

RCM7,

I noticed you have a double post, but I posted a reply to your lastest post on your separate thread same subject. It is in reference to my open heart surgery in DEC 2007 and my IPEB results.

Let me know if you have any questions to my other reply to your post. If you can't find the post/thread, let me know, and I will re-write.
