Thumbs up Re: MEB for Syncope

I have been all over the spectrum as to what i want. hard to figure out what you want when this is all i have known for the past 9 years. my last job before that was mcd's in high school.

Update though...my package finally made it otu of here..it is being sent out in the morning. looks like the doc recommends that either i be sent tdy to a place of lower elevation and see if that helps me or they retire/seperate/discharge me.

i was told by my PEBLO that it goes tehre by snail mail and that the typical wait right now can be up to 90 days. know that she is just the messenger but this sure is a nerve racking process...

well, tomorrow is 6 weeks and I am very impatient. No word from the PEBLO or anyone yet. hoping that no news is good news. Hope to hear something soon.

As fas as my case is concerned with the syncope both while standing and while driving, the question is this;

my job is vehicle operations and yet I have not been able to drive for work for over 2 years..almost 2 and a half years. Knowing this, what are the chances that I will be returned to duty with an assignment limitation code? My commander thinks that though i can do many duties within my job(i.e., dispatching, supervision, equipment support, etc), I still cannot do two main duties of my job 1)drive and 2) deploy.

Please tell me thoughts anyone has in this matter. I do not have seizures, but have passed out approx. 145 times since I arrived here 2.5 years ago.

Thank you,

It seems to me that this would be unfitting. However, depending on how your MEB report reads and your Commander's Letter/NMA reads the PEB could find you fit. Not very likely, in my opinion, but possible. If they do, probably because they think it is related to altitude/climate.

Hi,

I am sympathize with you, I was dignosed with neuro-cardiogenic syncope along with my migaines and was put on the TDRL and rated 40%. so hopefully that offers you some insight on what might happen.

It took about 2 months total with 1 PEB termination for a LODI (line of duty investigation)

Good luck

Thank you both for your responses. I wrote a pretty extensive letter on my own behalf along with my commanders letter and narrative that actually said that either i be sent to a base at sea level for a few months(probably lackland) and see if the condition dissipates or to be discharged in one way or another.

If I end up with the retirement/seperation, just like everyone else, I have a job lined up and am ready. just want the whole thing to be over with. not sure if i do get discharged how I will be rated since I do not have migraines or seizures(that they know of) with this condition and the only thing that has been proof positive in the two years since this started happening is a positive tilt table test. most of what i have read of people that have syncope are also occuring with the migraines or seizures.

thank you both again!

Yeah I had a positive tilt table as well, jeesh I hated that adrenaline they injected me with....They think my migraines/cluster headaches are linked with my syncope, I also get terrible vertigo .......yuck it sucks

good luck
