I'm just getting a little impatient and wish this process would hurry up so I can get on with my life.

this what I was told today from my PEBLO

"They had a new policy that was supposed to
go into effect on 28 Jan 08 so they had to pull 200 cases back to re-review them to ensure the members received the correct disability rating according to the VA guidelines---this of course held up the cases that were currently being reviewed. I know they finished the 200 cases because I had two people that had received their findings and were just waiting on their separation date (which normally takes about a week after they agree) and they just got their dates last week (almost a month later)"

good luck

p.s. this is the AF IPEB

Watson; could you give me an idea of what separation dates they received? I just accepted IPEB findings on 04MAR, and was told it may be in legal review for up to 2 months, and then another 21 days to get a retirement date...What kind of date did they get for separation. I am sitting here thinking I have a few months at least, and do not want to be in shock if I see a message saying to retire me in 1 month.

I suspect it will be difficult to draw any conclusions about processing times because many of the issues requiring review will only affect that cohort of cases processed in the recent few weeks. This is not to say that the info each of you has as to processing times won't be helpful to others who are also recently going through the system. I just don't want folks who are entering the process now to think that these current time frames are what they will neccesarily experience.

I can see it actually going through many slowdowns over the next several months, as new guidance comes out from DoD, APDA, AFPC, CORB, CG Chief Counsel's Office, etc. The Physical Disability Review Boards, when they start ramping up, may also slow down processing. But I suspect there will be slowdowns for certain periods and then things will pick up...until another issue comes up. But, if the Services put more resources (especially personnel) against the problem, the cases may get back to near normal timelines. Of course, all of this is an educated guess. We won't know until a volume of cases passes through the system.

Builtgypsy's thread on timelines may help folks track this, if members post their dates and events.
