Made it through the first day with out too many problems. It was just like any other physical had to fill out the DD 2807-1 and the 2808. I should have done these before and brought them with me as it would have helped, I did find them on line and redid them so they are nice an neat and so I made sure I listed everything. As I am CBHCO they argued over who would do the physical but decided to send me to the WTC, I hope this is the best place for it

I see everyone talks about getting the MEB physical...but I didn't go through that and I didn't have to fill out any special forms. I had an appt for range of motion, but that was it.

My MEB/PEB has been sent up. I did have a NARSUM, maybe that will cover it.
Anybody have any thoughts on this. Hopefully nothing is sent back because of this. Oh boy.

Thanks.

By the way, I forwarded a request to be sent to Colorado, my home of record, during this period. The request is being sent up to AFPC. So we'll see.

Hope everyone is doing great!

Default Day two

Well another interesting day. Started with ROM form the LTC in charge of the PT clinic. He measured my left ankle ROM 5° better then my PT at home and my right ROM 3° better, so left is -1° from neutral and right is 10°. I then went to see my PEBLO (well assistance PEBLO) and she was interesting. Spent a whole 6 min with her 3 of witch was spent filling out forms. She was not very pleasant nor offered any insight or advice. My next appointment was with an Orthopedic doctor and he did not want to see any of the information from my doctor back home, he looked at my feet and told me he would have the narsum written by tomorrow. When I told him I also had problems with my right tendon he told me they would not consider it for the PEB as it had not been ongoing for a year. Oh this is just so much fun.

I don't understand why you would not have an entire physical, did you just have one?

In the Army (and I assume the other Services as well, someone correct me if this is wrong) you have the physical in two phases, the first is for labs (they draw blood and urine, do your BP, vision, hearing test). The second is the face to face with the physician who will review your results and annotate concerns (hopefully).

Has anyone actually been through the two phases of physicals? Jason, have you seen many instances where they were just pushed through one half-assed physical before going to the IPEB?

As far as the phsyicals go, my explanation was based on what I went through when I separated last year, plus from what others told me. I think you may see the "one shot, one kill" approach with reservists and TDRL re-evaluations. I think those shake out much more with the complexity of the case and if they have all the neccesary test results in hand (i.e., if there is nothing in the case file, they may order multiple examinations). However, I think, strictly speaking, separation physicals are supposed to go through two phases, while the MEB process only has required info included in the NARSUM as far as what is required. For active duty Servicemembers, I think you see the procceses overlap, whereas for reservists and TDRLers, the processes are neccesarily different.

I had a PHA last Sept but that was it-you know, mostly questions ( :
Maybe they did just put all the paperwork together from the Dr visits and neuro tests, and then wrote up the NARSUM. The Hospital Commander had to sign off on this and approve it to move forward so I guess it had what they needed. I am an optimistic person by nature, but I can't help to think that this process has been messed up and things are missing. I'm just now getting the hang of this process . Well, sort of. Thanks to all of you and your support-sure makes things easier to deal with. Thanks for the input.
