Sorry about all the questions. I am just begining this and have a lot of anxiety over what could happen. So here is my question: Can my commander allow me to take leave while I am awaiting a MEB?

The details vary between the Services. In some cases, you need approval of your PEBLO. But, yes, you can take leave with approval. The overriding concern is that you be available for appointments, signing documents, etc. As always, leave is subject to operational/mission requirements.

Hi, welcome to the forum!

If your command doesn't have a problem with you taking leave, and you're not leaving the area, anyone else who has a say would be hard pressed to have a reason to disagree with your command. I was actually able to take a full month of leave not too long ago on my command's approval, so don't give up hope!

Do remember that your leave is worth more to you as terminal leave than anything else. Because you get VHA/BAS/Base Pay. If you sell it back you only get Base Pay.

the guys hit this on the head. i was taking leave here and there at the beginning of mine. i believe it's commanders discreation and how much medical stuff you have going on. good luck!
