I kinda knew going into it that they would more than likely send it to Randolph, and my PEBLO said it should take 6 to 10 weeks to hear back from them. The worst part about this process is NOT KNOWING WHAT THEY WILL DECIDE!!! I'm anxious, nervous, and have a whole lot of other crap going on that I have to focus on/worry about. Anyways, I really have no idea what to expect and everyone keeps telling me that I will more than likely be discharged/retired but I really don't want to get my hopes up that I'll be discharged, and be able to return home...

andrewboyer5709,
I hope you receive the outcome you are looking for. The worst part for me too was not knowing what outcome I would receive, and the long wait to get the outcome.
Good luck with everything.

So I guess I could find out any day now what Randolph AFB will say regarding my MEB... my docs, PEBLO, and Jason said to expect medical retirement, but I don't want to assume.. I haven't found anyone else in the MILITARY Med Boarded for a juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma (JNA), which is what i had. Can't find any ratings at all, except for a 50% rating for multiple sinus surgeries.. NO IDEA WHAT TO EXPECT!!

I hope it goes well. It is hard to project what an appropriate code to rate you under might be (which makes it hard to project a likely outcome). You have a range of symptoms that may be ratable by themselves, but then again may not be unfitting.
In most cases, the disability is captured clearly by the VASRD. Unfortunately, your disability is not listed, so you have to look at an analagous code that most closely approximates the affected anatomy and symptoms of your disease. This presents opportunities and challenges. Challenges, because if the PEB chooses poorly, you can end up with a poor rating. Opportunity, because you are not clearly limited to one code and you can argue for a different code if the PEB has it wrong. I really wish I could just tell you offhand what is the best code or a likely rating, but cases like yours take reviewing the medical evidence to give an educated analysis. The chronic sinusitis code you mentioned may be appropriate, but then again, it may not. It sounds like it is not necessarily the JNA that is unfitting, but may be the effects of treatment and secondary conditions.
When you get the results back, you can post follow up questions. Like I said, hope it goes well. Let's hope for a good outcome!

I found out just today that I have the chronic sinusitus, so I don't belive that will be reviewed by the board. I know another reason they'll likely discharge/retire me is due to the fact that I can't PCS, TDY, or Deploy, due to the fact that I have to have follow-ups every 6 months at least.. unfortunately, no one else knows or has any idea where to find the information I need for an educated guess as to what the board will decide, so I just have to wait and see.. which just happens to be the worst part! again, thanks for the help, and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
