Army need help army Meb/Peb

I'm Army MSG will have 24 years in Mar 09. signed paper work today for my PEB for CHRONIC LOWER BACK PAIN, PTSD AND PAIN DISORDER WITH PSYCHOLOGICAL AND PHYSICAL FACTORS. Can anyone tell me what type of rating i'm looking at. Thanks And what is my best outcome with the PEB.

I can't predict but I can tell you what the Army and VA did for my husband for some similar problems. The Army rated him at 80% and the VA at 100% with a breakdown of the following:

70% PTSD; TBI congitive disorder and major depressive disorder
50% loss of left eye; gunshot wound
50% facial scarring from gunshot wound
10% degenerative joint disease; right shoulder
10% degenerative joint disease and scoliosis; lumbar spine (injury from bad jump)
10% tinnitus
10% migraine headaches (gunshot wound)

He has a TBI and PTSD combined at 70% and from what I understand since he is TDRL he would get a minimum of 50% for his PTSD. Personally, I feel that even though they are related and go hand-in-hand, they should be seperate ratings.

His lower back issues are only rated at 10%, though it causes constant pain and often debilitates him. His spine is actually curved (scoliosis) and he got very little for it.

If there is a trend to be found making those comparisons (which I cannot say is even remotely a consideration as each case is different) then I would guess at least 60% from the VA and less from the Army.

Pain Disorder will be rated according to General Schedule for Rating Mental Disorders.

Keep in mind that with your years in service, the minimum rating you will get is 2.5% times years of service. (I am assuming you are active duty).
