MEB question

Hello -

Just wanted to get an idea on what I should be expecting. I was just recently notified that I'm pending MEB. I have been in and out to see my provider and she could not figure out what was going on with me. I have a lot of pain all over my body and so I have gone through Neurology and Physical Therapy. None of it worked and while in the process of gettig treatment another doctor found out that I have some bulging disk both upper and lower back, along with carpal tunnel syndrome. Finally after 11 1/2 months of treatment I'm diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. In between treatments I also had surgery for benign thyroid nodule and i'm also about to have a surgery for my nose and I also have virtigo.
I have been in for 14 years and I'm afraid that I might get medically discharged and not retired. What are the chances that I will get discharged rather than retired?

Welcome! The first issue will be whether or not your conditions prevent reasonable performance of your duties (i.e., are your conditions "unfitting").

How do your conditions impact your duty performance?

It is such a coincidence, yesterday, my doctor discovered that I have a thyroid nodule So, now I have to see where this goes....

I recommend you start getting oriented to the process by reading the Overview of MEB/PEB Process thread in my signature block.

Thanks for the reply, I have not missed any work but I've had times where it's been hard to get out of bed. Other than not able to lift heavy object I think I can handle staying in but my doctors think other wise. My pain has gotten to a point where I can't even lift my purse. Both my pain management doctor and PCM thinks that I should not deploy, my pain management doctor thinks that I should take Epidoral shots but I'm trying to avoid that. I'm currently coded as 37 (none deployable, No PCS, no cross-training...etc)
I took your advice and signed up for DTAP...i will be attending on Monday will continue to post as I get more info. So far what do you think will happen?

Hello everyone i'm back again for more questions. I got a copy of my final eval with my Physical Therepist and I according to my Medical Record I have been diagnosed with the following; fibromyalgia, Herniated disk L4-L5, Lumbago, Bulging disk (L5-S1), Lumbardisk Degeneration L4-L5, Gastritis, Esopahgitis Chronic Reflux, Intervetebral Disk Degeneration-Lumbar, Myositis, Deviated Nasal Septum (awaiting surgery). So with that list, are they going to count all of this towards my package? I spoke to my Therapist on my last visit and I was told she hasn't even heard about my MEB yet. I'm kind of worried that they will only consider the fibromyalgia problem. What should I do?

By the way, can someone explain to me what AROM: Lumbar Spine Active Movements; FB: 60 (assuming Forward Bend) BB: 35 SBL: 25 SBR: 15 Rot: restricted Bilat. If anyone out there has ever been MEB for any of these conditions can someone please let me know what te rating was? Thanks again
