TDRL and VA benefits?

my husband will be out in less then 2 months, and we were being told hed get a severance pay, but now we got told no, because its TDRL. Hes already getting things set up thru VA, and gathering all his medical records. but how soon will he expect any payments? will he qualify for unemployment if hes got a nonworking disability?

is there anyone that can explain exactly what were looking at going thru the next few months or so. my husband isnt the best at listening or asking questions. and so im flying into all of this almost blind. except for what i can learn online.

i need to know all the steps hes going to need to make sure hes taking, whether its while hes still in the army, or when he gets out and is dealing with the VA.

also, can he get tdrl and va compensation at the same time? everything im reading is really confusing.
