I was given a 10% rating. But the 30-40 lbs I have put on since separation would indicate (hopefully) that it should have an increased %. Fingers crossed.

Legacy, as this was in 2004. The only thing in my MEB was my knee. The VA gave me 10% for that issue and another 10% for a thyroid disorder. And they are supposedly giving me another 10% for the ringing in my ears. LOL

Can you tell I am still bitter? I fought the medical separation like a mad man, but to no avail. I was still separated. If my knee is so bad that I cannot withstand the physical beating taken by being an active duty soldier, then how can it be well enough to get 0%?

I understand that aspect of it. What I am confused by is the fact that you could be considered unfit, yet not rated. 0% disabled means 100% abled, at least logically and from a common sense standpoint.

Can someone please explain to me how the Army can find you unfit for duty due to a service-connected injury, then find you 0% disabled?

In 2006, I went to the VA hospital in Fargo, ND to have my disability re-evaluated on my left knee. The VA deemed it to be 10% originally. My range of motion was decreasing and I was having more problems with it locking. My appointment for left knee issues was not handled by an orthopedic...

I was separated from the Army in 2004 after my second surgery on my left knee. I had an OATS procedure done, and I have no cartilage in my knee. 7 years later, I still suffer from degenerative arthritis and my right knee has worsened due to compensating for the left knee. After 8+ years of...
