Default Army MSG wants to stay Army Strong
Med board question. I have 22 years of service just had a spinal fusion L4,5 pins etc. Jan 2008. Pined on MSG Sep 2007. I want to stay in. I am pending a MEB what are my options. I do not want out atleast until Oct 2009. Pending PCS for the 4th time, currently on a Tep Profile.What are my choices?

If the MEB finds your medical condition does not meet retention standards, then you will be referred to the PEB for an informal hearing. This consists of a paper review of your records.

If the PEB finds you unfit, you can then request a formal PEB hearing. To have a chance of prevailing at the formal PEB, you must be able to present evidence that your condition is not unfitting. There you must be able to show the board your condition does not prevent you from performing the minimum duties of your MOS.
