I don't know about Ft Campbell, but my son is at Ft Hood and the mental health services there are swamped, with waiting lists, they are also sending folks off post. However they ignored the recommendations of my son's and others providers and deployed them for the second or third time anyway, now they have an even bigger problem.

Being in the med field...for whatever its worth...we need more psych nurses and psych techs in the field running medical/psych debriefs after missions. Then we would have a better chance of catching the problems early on vs...letting them snowball after being deployed a year...and having everything build up-leaving the guys/gals to come back to waiting lists... What the hell.....you know -our military folks have stress here at home but there are movies, bars, dances, family, parks, etc to let the steam off.....out there the environment to let the steam off is limited-another reason why crap is built up. No its not easy taking a life or live in that environment for a year (and for us med techs, its not easy when we can't save a life)... but when its done to stand up for our country, to stand up for the little elementary school kids who died in an airplane crash when the airplane was taken over by terrorists, or to stand up for the innocent civilians in the twin towers....our military guys should feel like hero's...they should feel proud that they are standing up and doing the job that others cannot. God bless America and our fighting troops. All troups.
