I was medically retired from Active Duty in 2006. I have an extreme desire to try and serve in a NG unit in the area. The VA has already rated me and I am PDRL from the Army. Do I have any options at all?

I don't think you can server in the military in any capacity. But talk to your NG recruiter.

You have an RE code on your DD214 that will bar enlistment. If your condition has improved and you have recovered, you can petition BCMR for correction, but I tend to think this will result in loss on military disability compensation and your PDRL status.

The answer to whether you can serve and its impact on your benefits would take some serious analysis. The risks are great for your benefits and I would advise you consider this closely and seek legal advice before trying to do this. This is not an easy question to answer, I do not feel comfortable stating an opinion on this without researching this more.
