Re: Reserve and National Guard Incapacitation Pay
The unit was not mobilized, another unit needed additional soldiers to meet their units strength. The unit that I am attached to was just alerted, but they have not a clue of what they should be doing for me! Everybody wants to know why I was even at SRP, since I was already in a non-deployable status anyway. Again, they really do not have a clue, but would rather mess up, than fess up. Excuse the grammar. I have now accumulated a small set of encyclopedias from all the incorrect paperwork, and documentation, and emails. I try not to talk to them over the phone at all cost, I need a running record of what I was instructed to do, that way there is no confusion. I also made sure that I read the instructions with the INCAP paperwork, for the physicians statement, and monthly claim form. I made sure to enclose a copy of my job description(as that can be something to hold up the process), my previous years W2(I don't understand why these are needed), and the notes from my job that say that I am not cleared for work. I would suggest that you try to get in good graces with someone in HR on your job. Most places have a standard for turnaround time on paperwork, and you want to have it in to your INCAP pay assistant by their deadlines. Another point, try to get in touch with the person who handles INCAP pay, so you will know the timelines, how often the panel meets, etc. I have been battling this since April, and everytime I complete what I am suppose to do, someone else does not do their part, or they give you the incorrect paperwork to begin with, then that is more time wasted.
