Oh yeah, Title 10 and Title 32 tours count. State Active Duty does not. If you have never been on a long tour of active duty I would try to stay in because you are going to get screwed on a severance package.

Thanks Stu and Orion I agree. I'm not sure about the naive part... It simply never mattered before. I knew from my first tour of active duty infantry, when they couldn't find anything on my military record and I was discharged off of a yellow legal pad in the middle of the Mojave Desert. Since my last post I have been talking with our command about making time for a class regarding record keeping, retirement, etc. even for those that are just in it for the fun. Just being here for the fun is cool until you realize you're broken, tired and have put your family and yourself through 20 years of this.
