My PEBLO told me my NARSUM had been received, but was sent back because the Army wanted it written a certain way. What does that mean? Aug 17, 2012

Means that your MEB doc doesn't know what they are doing... If I were you report it to your Ombudsman and Patient Advocacy immediately, this doc needs to be investigated since they aren't doing their job correctly!

Does anyone have an example of a letter they sent with their MEB?

At that time, I really didn't care one way or the other which decision was made...but I knew that I had to get out of that area, as allergies made the asthma worse and yellow pollen was so thick on everything (i.e. we would wake in the morning and cars were covered in the pollen, so thick that we could see it).

I do not remember what my PFT scores were. Had to use Nebulizer 1-2 times/week at hospital for bad attacks. Was diagnosed with severe asthma, and had to take a plythera of meds.

My commander is on board and on my eval we put specific incidents on why I was not retainable. I don't know, I think the doc is trying to give me the mininum amount possible. I have both Asthma and sleep apnea and now all of a sudden my profiles were broken up. For the last four years both have been on one profile, but for the board it's just asthma. Any thoughts?

Diagnosis went from moderate to severe asthma butpermanent profile is still a P2, doc said it would be updated during eval, is this true?

Im sure you figured this out by now, but it takes a a higher authority to give you a perm P3. a Perm P3 would automatically put you in an MEB. BUT, it is true that the MEB will give you a Perm P3 when you are officially entered into the DES.

30% is just a disability % assigned by the PEB. When you are rated 30%-100% by the PEB you are medically retired. If placed on TDRL and rated 30-50% by PEB you receive 50% of your base pay(36 month average) during TDRL assignment. Between 50-75% you receive that percentage of base pay. Anything over 75% is capped at 75%. If placed on PDRL you receive the % assigned of your base pay.

When they say 30% medical retirement, is that 30% of your base bay?

I am trying to figure out that if you have over 12 years do they automatically retire you if you are found unfit?

No, you need 30% if you have less than 20 years of service.
