23 AUG 11 Was referred to MEB after my profile was elevated from P2 to P3. Profile is for Degenerative Joint Disease Lumbar Spine with Herniation L5-S1. 06 SEP 11 PEBLO contacted me from Fort Gordon, I am in Mississippi (9 hours away). My MEB will be processed through Gordon, guess I get some TDY. Talked over process and mailed me forms to complete and send back. 12 SEP 11 Filled out and faxed forms back to PEBLO. 27 SEP 11 Contacted by VA MSC at Fort Gordon. She requested I copy my medical records as she said the one given to her was less than 20 pages. Gave her my laundry list of "problems": DJD Lumbar Spine with Herniation L5-S1 Ulnar Nerve Impingement (Surgery pending early October) PTSD Acid Reflux Memory Loss/ Concentration Problems Sleep Disturbances (Waiting on referral for sleep study) Bilateral Heel Pain Tinitus/ Ringing in ears Mild hearing loss Bilateral Knee Pain Bilateral Shoulder Pain Thats where I sit, will keep you posted on the length of this process. I have a feeling I'll do "OK" with disability. Keep the faith guys.
An update to my MEB. As of 22 DEC 11 I am awaiting the NARSUM. It's been really frustrating being two states away from my PEBLO. I feel like I am getting a disservice being so far away. I hit 20 years active federal service next month, so I am assuming when the board does meet they will just recommend retirement.
25 January- MEB Complete. 27 January Received packet from Fort Gordon. A little confused about some things and there are some errors. Researching.
Talked to my VA service rep today. She stated that VA awarded me 100% on May 12. She told me this information was sent to the PEB and that is what they were waiting on to complete my PEB process. Hopefully soon I will get some information from the Army, my PEBLO never has any information. Trying to figure out what 100% means now.
They were able to tell you your percentage? They tell me they can't even though its right in front of them
Sorry, yes she told me the total percentage. I haven't received anything in writing as of yet. So, I am not getting my hopes up. Board is still in PEB phase as of 3/20/2012.
AKO was populated today with a PEB completion date of 5/22. So it looks like it is moving along. PEBLO didn't answer the phone today so I will try to call him tomorrow.

My updated timeline as of 7 JUN 12 Refered to MEB (IDES) for MS DEC 11 VA Physical 12 Jan 12 NARSUM Complete 28 Apr 12 MEB Packet forwarded to PEB (second time) 7 May 12 After bugging my PEBLO she told me that my packet was forwarded to DVA on or about 3 JUN 12 Awaiting their findings and then the 199 for me to review and sign. My PEBLO is clueless. She did not know what I was going to the PEB for nor did she realize that once the PEB sends your case to DVA it means that you were found unfit. Or maybe I am missing something but I do not think that I am. My PEB was conducted at WWAMC and my VA location for adjudication is Seatle, WA if that helps anyone. My best advice after all of this is BE PERSISTENT! Call not just your PEBLO but the PEB board as well. That is the only way to make this non-transparant process a little less nerve wracking.
I called my PEBLO today, my PEB results are on their way to me VIA FEDEX. I should have them tomorrow or monday, along with my 199. Anxious now.
Updated:Got my PEB in hand today, 70% DA and 100% VA, placed on TDRL. I'm excited. Anyone know how long it takes from 199 to Orders?
