Default Happy Thankgiving!!!

right align image

I wanted to wish everyone a safe and Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you can spend time with family and loved ones, and for those of you currently serving in distant places, you have our gratitude and are in our thoughts and prayers.

If you are not familiar with the painting, it is one of Norman Rockwell's paintings from the Four Freedom series. It is the Freedom from Want, which is probably appropriate this year given the state of the economy. When I saw this, I felt that it expressed the hope that things get better for all us and that we can all share in a prosperous United States. But I also know that times are not the best, and it also made me think that aside from material things, sharing a meal with your loved ones, no matter how extravagant or modest, it something we can all give thanks for...

I do hope everyone has a great holiday, and I hope to see some pics of your gatherings....once again,

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Yes the painting is wonderful. This year our family all agreed to make contributions to community charities in lieu of gift giving. We have one here in Charleston that supports homeless veterans. During my years in service I spent several Thanksgivings and Christmas holidays in some dismal places so being with family and friends is the greatest gift we can have. BTW my wife has been calling me a turkey for quite a while..I'm worried.

Thanks Jason for starting this site.

Norman Rockwell managed to make every painting he did incredible in the story it told. It's fantastic to see this one here.

For those that get a four day weekend for the holiday, don't eat so much turkey you pass out and miss it all! I hope this holiday is a warm prelude to an even better Christmas and New Year's for all.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

May Thanksgiving find you and your family in good spirits and good health.

May our brothers and sisters still down range be safe and a thought of them in be our hearts as they sacrifice for us, and for them God-speed.

This will be my first Thanksgiving with my family since 2005. I have so much to be Thankful for and I'm looking forward to the chaos.

A special thank you to my new friends on the forum-for helping me keep faith through troubled times.

My thoughts and prayers are with my 302d co-workers still working in the sands-overseas...thoughts and prayers to all that are abroad...Bless you all. Happy Thanksgiving.
