I feel you on this i have been in severe pain every day since October 2005 and its been a long hard road but the one thing that has really helped with me not becomeing depressed is when I had my surgerysX2 and in came the good pain meds. Now im not saying im an addict but i am saying i occassionally abuse them to continues the things that i use to do per say. I will take more than im suppose to but then i got golfing or fishing i helps me stay level minded and not depressed. I know its not goof for my body but i know its not good for my head either not being able to do the things i love to do.

Great point and link, I am also a living testament to this...my chronic migraines have pretty much made me not want to live anymore, I can't do the things I loved to do, I am not the Marine, son, friend, I once was...

I am having personal issues with myself because I was a upbeat person before my migraines got so bad, but my chronic pain has me so depressed, the nickname for migraines is "seretonin monster" they deplete the "happy" chemical seretonin in your brain...grrrr

It's like the question about the chicken and the egg: Which came first, the pain or the depression? Chronic pain can lead definitely lead to depression, but depression can also make existing pain worse.

You can explore mamaherb regarding natural treatment for resolving depression. You can get some treatments offered by the public for this condition and you can see all the comments for each treatment and to how many people it really helped so far.
