Ptsd w/ MST among other things

Hi I just have a couple of questions. I was assaulted on post two years ago and have been dealing with it ever since. I was diagnosed with ptsd after being medically referred to BH because I started having chronic pain because of the anxiety and having to work literally right down the street from where it happened. Fast forward to a year later, I just received my first temp profile for ptsd where I can’t be around weapons and I take like 3 different antidepressants so I also have to be alotted 8 hrs of rest every 24 hrs so I had to be removed from staff duty (nervous about being on post at night). How does this temporary profile affect me? Are they getting ready to have paperwork evidence to med board me? I just want to be prepared. Also will the unit use it against me and say I’m worthless? I self-referred to ASAP because I was using alcohol to calm myself down at work and I didn’t want it to become a problem. I’m also about to have surgery next month for a diagnostic laparoscopic on endometriosis. Is that considered an elective surgery? One other question I have is that I’m in aviation as a UAS Operator so if I do get med boarded will they go off of CH 3 (regular) or CH 4 (aeromedical) of the AR 40-501? If the latter, a diagnosis of endometriosis will make me grounded. What then? Sorry it is so long I guess I’ve been stewing this for a while. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I am sorry to hear about your assault. May I suggest you contact a Vet Center? Most have a counselor with additional training in MST. There are also relocation programs available so you are not required to walk down the same street day after day.

A diagnostic laparoscopy is generally an elective procedure.

Best wishes.

What does the Vet Center do that BH doesn’t? Also, I have thought about relocating, but after a year of seeing my pcm and BH provider I just don’t want to start all over with other people and talking about it over again I have done that enough.

Vet Center has SA specialist. If you are happy and making progress with BH then forget what I said.

By the way, I just underwent an exploratory surgery for endometriosis and Tricare Select didn't bill it as elective surgery. I paid $150 out of pocket for a co-pay and that was it. Also, I didn't need a referral from a PCM to get it done.

I’m active duty so I don’t pay for anything
