Hey everyone.

Just got a packet that my PTSD in TDRL was dropped from 50% to 10% with severance. I'm going to fight it but I can't travel long distances I have heart palpation pass out and panic attacks, whole other story I have to figure out because I won't be able to make the 22 hour travel honestly. My tdrl check up was all in my favor to remain on tdrl and I have gotten worse I have the paperwork and notes. I'm very confused how the Peb came up with this response. My PTSD came from Iraq and I was medically retired from special operations. Any insight would be appreciated. I have been on my all my meds and seeking treatment as well.

. Also does this mean my VA rating will drop from 50% to 10% due to the PEB finding?

I would appeal, but get an attorney. Don't know what branch you were in, but counsel should be available to assist you for a Formal Board.

Was 50% your rating for PTSD, or lower? I ask because 50% is the minimum for pay while in TDRL for Mental health conditions, even if your rating was lower.

My assumption is that you were consistently being treated for your condition, gather all your treatment records from Physicians and Therapists.

Thanks for the response. I have and already sent all my post military appts to the Peb with my tdrl check up. Tdrl can not believe the outcome. I have contacted 3 attorneys one being military and they can't find one single answer how it was lowered. Ive been 50% dod and VA. Va I'm still 50 but the package states 10% dod take the severance

Contacted 3 attorney? Just hire one good one! Someone whose practice is limited to MEB/PEB/BCMR cases.

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

Indeed, if your DoD LDES PEB case doesn't accurately reflect the available medical evidence/documentation then for certain it would seem to be in your best interest to submit an appeal for a Formal PEB hearing at this particular point in time!

As such, please never default acceptance to any injustices when in the DoD LDES PEB process at least in my wealth of experienced-based opinions! Take care!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer!"

Best Wishes!

Thanks warrior and chaplain I'm just lost for words. The attorney I selected said a lot of PTSD folks got this message like a ball dropped.

Iam dealing with this exact same scenario, with the only exception being that I never got the mail correspondence and was sent separations papers. That is where I am right now with being transferred back to the TDRL while I wait for a reconsideration. If you make any headway I would love to hear about your experience with it and maybe learn what I need to do next.

70% TDRL ... PEB lowered to 30%, resubmitted... still 30%. Now it goes to FBEP. Is it common for the PEB to be stubborn when they look at an appeal?

Indeed, from all of my experiences via an U.S. Army perspective. Continue the fight if your medical evidence and/or documentation supports the outcome you desire. Take care!
