I am currently on orders that in which I am solo most of the time and allow my working hours to be very flexible. I have intractable migraines after suffering a head injury, service connected, that have been diagnosed by a civilian neurologist. I suffer 2-3 migraines a week, I will have to completely stop what I am doing and find sanctuary in a dark, quite place for hours. I have been on meds that aren’t helping and received my first Botox injection therapy, that did nothing for me. I go in for my second session of botox in a couple weeks. I don’t think it will help because I don’t have tension migraines, they started after a head injury. I have not said anything to my command yet. I am trying to not to expose it because I don’t want to jeopardize my job in the service, and I am hoping the meds and procedures will help but it looks like they won’t. I have heard Botox is the “last hope” for migraine treatment if nothing else has worked. I will not be able to keep up and be sucessful with the work I will be doing with my rate once these orders are finished. I am barely keeping it together with these orders I’m on. Are the Botox injections the “last hope” for migraines? If so I will have to expose my issue to the command, most likely spawning a MEB.
