Hi all, wondering if anybody is going through a TDRL re-evaluation process currently and what the timelines are looking like. Here is where I am at right now:

5 July 2015- Placed on TDRL from Army Active Duty (30% DOD, 70% VA)
18 September 2017- TDRL Re-evaluation #1
11 December 2017- Received re-evaluation report from VELO, given 5 days to concur or non-concur and return signed memo
13 December 2017- Submitted signed concur memo to VELO
14 December 2017- VELO sent re-evaluation report, concur memo, and medical records to informal PEB for review

Anybody at a similar step in the process? Wondering what are the turnaround times for the informal PEB decisions right now. Will update this thread with any developments as they happen.

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

Historically in my own particular situation during the USAHRC TDRL PEB's review of my second TDRL re-evaluation, a total of 71 calendar days had totally elapsed prior to the receipt of the DA Form 199 from my assigned VELO.

Hopefully, the current Army TDRL PEB processing timelines have changed positively. Take care!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer!"
Best Wishes!

September 2016: Put on TDRL.
July 2017: First reevaluation.
September 2017: Notified of VA increase from 90% to 100% (not P&T)
November 20, 2017: Notified of IPEB findings recommending PDRL. DOD increase from 50% to 70%.
November 29, 2017: Mailed in my concurrence with the IPEB findings.
December 1, 2017: Coordinator forwarded my 199 to the PEB.
January 1, 2018: Permanently retired from the Army.
January 18, 2018: Received my orders and certificate in the mail.

Did it really take over two years for your first evaluation? I thought it was supposed to be 18 months.

It did, here are the two reasons why:

1. Budgeting issues for the PEB and TDRL programs
2. I had a second surgery for the unfitting condition that forced the timeline to be longer (first was while on active duty)

I was first contacted for a my re-evaluation in August 2016, and notified about my surgery which was scheduled for 5 Dec 2016. The VELO let me know that they would still do my re-eval ahead of surgery, but then a couple months went by and she updated me that they were experiencing a funding slow-down that prevented re-eval appointments from being made. The re-eval never happened before surgery on 5 Dec 2016, and then they didn't contact me again until August 2017 to pick back up on my re-eval. I'm not 100% sure of whether the lag was still due to budget constraints or due to my surgery, or both. The write-up on my original 199 for placement on TDRL cited condition is unstable due to being in the midst of post-op rehab and an inability to get reliable range of motion measurements (I was just a couple months post-op at that point as well). So it actually worked out this time that they waited so long to schedule my re-eval, because I had completed post-op rehab at that point and they could take reliable measurements and consider the condition stable.

In the September 2017 timeline, what do you mean by notified of VA increase? Did you file for a C&P exam yourself? or did the PEB findings get sent to the VA thus opening a claim for an increase?

Are you navy/marines or army/AF? So just to clarify you had your TDRL exam on 18 Sept and got your results on 11 December?
