Does anyone have or found anything that shows what the regulations or rules regarding the steps/timelines for the PDBR process once we receive the white envelope?

It shouldn't be so hard, none of us here should be sitting in the dark trying to guess what is going to happen next. This is yet another slap in our faces.

Everyone single person SOLDIER/VETERAN here on the PDBR was failed when their initial rating came back less than 30%...Now after more than 10 years for most we are told things are going to be made "right" and this is what everyone is getting...MORE RUN AROUND, VAGUE ANSWERS, LIES. Again every single person here knows better.

This Air Force vets in this process receive a letter from the PDBR board when they direct the AF personnel center to change our records. The below paragraph is part of that letter. Does not give much on a time frames.

Also made an inquiry to DFAS back on Sept 19th. He was their response in regards to establishing retirement accounts:

Whats going on people! Question how many of you all have done your own DD2656 and DFAS accepted it with out any problems.? I went to FT Stewart today and sat down with an RSO and after i got back home i found about 5 mistakes on the paper work wedding date wrong, got my daughter listed as a boy and things like that. I want to just do it my self but i dont know because once they enter it into the computer is it automacially saved and i have to go back to them or are they just filling in a blank form

Sadly I think this is something they have to fill out. Have you tried changing it on Milconnect? Not even sure if you can update or change things on there. I would try calling Fort Stewart before making that drive again. Or calling DFAS.

Doug just got off with V.A. ask about severance recoupment. They said DFAS has not been in contact and they showed nothing in the system. However, DFAS claimed 2 weeks ago they had sent it up back in July and were just waiting... Again, not sure what is happening.

Has anyone at all started receiving their retirement pay yet? gotten anything in the mail from DFAS?

I faxed a VA form 21-4138 to the VA asking for my VA disability audit on 10/1 also send all info to DFAS. I received the audit today as well as letter explaining a few things. The letter also stated this, "We can assure you that DFAS has all pertinent and updated data to complete the process accurately."

I still have 15 days before I can call DFAS back. DFAS said they had my orders and DD214 on Oct 1st. Ill try calling DFAS around the 1st of Nov to see where I am at. VA sent me what I owe on my severance and a short audit of what I have paid towards the severance as well as what the VA has paid me.

Also sent a copy of this letter certified mail to DFAS.

That is great news!

I requested a financial audit from the VA on August 10th, and also asked for the results to be sent to DFAS.

I haven't been given my results back yet, but the estimated completion date range has recently changed to 10/13-10/22.

Ok got my DFAS Retiree Account Statement yesterday in the mail. it shows my gross pay, SBP and withholdings. It also states my first pay disbursement will be 1 Nov. As far as recoupment and backpay. I sent a fax copy of my VA recoupment balance statement last week to DFAS, and had VA resend the same document to dfas. The original one I requested back on 1 sep never made it to them based on the WRONG (KY) address. I received Email from VA reconfirming they sent out the new Recoupment audit to dfas on Friday. I will call DFAS tomorrow to see if they received the Recoupment balance.

How were you able to find out the timeline or date range? Which website?

I don’t understand why letters are still going out with the KY address for DFAS since they closed. Shouldn’t the military be aware of that sort of thing???

In the letter I got from today, the VA stated, "I takes a minimum of two weeks from reception of docs to be scanned into their e-file". I have no idea what happens after its in to the E-File?

The Air Force tells us they forward all info to DFAS. Have no idea how long this process takes. I faxed my orders, DD214 and DD2656 directly to DFAS. Called a week or so later and they stated they had them.

the Air Force seems to be doing a much better job than the Army. When Doug made an appointment with the RSO @ Fort Leonard Wood, when he got there they would not see him. They said they do not handle anyone who IS NOT STATIONED AT FORT WOOD. WTF??? Also retirement brief, he was handed a sheet of paper and told to go look online. That again they are there for active duty and not people like him.. again WTF. We lost all hope in the Army a long time ago and it looks that its still the same. We just want a straight answer and honest answer.

DFAS sent me a retiree account statement effective date Sept 10th. I received 4 of them. Which shows that my retirement is offset because my VA is higher. It shows I didn't except SBP. It says I would of started receiving retirement pay effective October 1st.

I filled out my form 2656 around Aug 2nd at Fort Knox KY.

I never set up account for they told me I dont have 20 plus years in. I wasn't a regular retiree. They told me I would have to go through the VA to get my retiree statement.

I was medically retired as Combat related. I did put in for my CRSC September 15th. I received a letter from CRSC stating that they have received my claim.

same thing has happened to me. Seems like Im going through this process blindfolded.

eBenefits has it in the "Open Claims" section for me.

What did you actually file for it to come up in "Open Claims" on eBenefits? I was told to fill out 21-4138 but none show in eBenefits.

A couple of questions for you:

1. Were you able to receive any feedback from emailing the leadership of DFAS?
2. Is it time for a DOD IG complaint? DFAS in under the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller)

Actually some COL is on the phone with doug right now. He called us. I’ll let you guys know as soon as he’s off the phone. He is asking doug about all our issues. Discussing the issues with DFAS. He just ask about new London dfas and why the board is having everyone send stuff there.
