Hello,

I have been tasked to write my CC letter. However I am stuck, and need some advice. I want to focus on general and specific responsibilities as outlined in the Enlisted Force Structure, but don't know if this is appropriate. Has anyone in the AF have any recent experience with this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Not sure about your relationship with your Commander, so I would ask for an office call with the XO or even the First shirt. Having input is important to help guide your future, yet Command is responsible for is task. Work it to your benefit within our core values. Ron P

Since you have been given the opportunity to write the letter, do so. First things first, what is your goal? Write every sentence based on your goal. If you want to be retired, every sentence should be about your limitations. If you want to stay, highlight what you can do.

My feeling is that I should be medically retired. As such, I have started out by highlighting what I feel I struggle with... here is a snippet of what i have so far:

"Members cognitive deficit greatly reduces his ability to lead. Has to make detailed and multiple notes to complete simple tasks and meet deadlines, however this has not helped to avoid missing multiple suspense's and failed tasks. Due to his condition, has periods of restlessness that are problematic for instruction of students. Member has struggled to establish and maintain effective professional and social relationships which makes interacting with students, peers and subordinates extremely challenging. Provides adequate work, however performance rating has been steadily declining over prior rating periods. Member is disqualified from deployment based on diagnosis and medication."

I hope that is specific enough, this was just my first attempt.

I think it is a strong do not retain CC letter.
