My CRSC timeline

Where specifically on HRC do I check?

Army HRC website
Click my records.
Click Reserve/Retiree/Veteran Record
Click Documents.
CRSC document should be at or near top of the list depending on what has been loaded after the CRSC document, if anything.

So I'm assuming that if it isn't on HRC it hasn't been approved yet.

My Records --> Veterans--> My Documents. If it isn't there then it's not approved /disapproved yet. That place is more like an archive of things not like a status update. I think you have to call them for that.

Hello RonG, I've seen you've done this a thousand times and I apologize for asking you to do it again but was wondering if you could figure out my estimated CRSC. I've done it myself a couple hundred times and keep going into the negatives which means I'm either a mathematical moron (likely) or I'm actually just going to get nothing (also likely). Anyway here's the stats--
High 3: 1800
Years AD: 6 years 8 months
VA Comp At 70%: ($1403.71)
DoD percent medical retirement >20: 70%
CRSC Approved at: 70%

Thanks a lot in advance even if you don't do it!
Hello,
A. 1800 x 0.70 = 1260 retired pay
B. 1403.71 VA comp causes full waiver of retired pay
C. 6.67 yrs x 2.5% = 16.68% multiplier
D. 1800 x 0.1668 = about $300 CRSC

This is is much less than the 70% rate approved by service. CRSC cannot exceed the longevity portion of retired pay.

Glad to help.

Ron

Thanks a whole lot!! My last figure was -$51.71 so I was WAY off! lol
Keep up the good work.

Not necessarily. I called yesterday to ask for a status on mine and all they could tell me was that they had sent out a letter. When I asked about it being loaded to my records they said it usually takes at least 2 weeks to go from CRSC to uploaded to our records. They also said it could take 15-20 business days to receive the letter in the mail. My natural response was to ask if they were sending it by Pony Express seeing as it takes less time to mail a package to Baghdad.

Correct. Results will be post on your hrc account follow by a letter in the mail. Good luck!!

Thanks for all of your help. I will probably call them today, in hopes of receiving some type of hint. I submitted in January so I can only hope the 90 day window most have been experiencing has shrunk.

Hopefully it doesn't take that long. HRC had my determination loaded on 08MAR2019 and I received the letter from them in the mail on 11MAR2019. HRC could walk it to you in 15-20 business days.

You may get luck and they have gotten to it. They received mine 11/30 and they started to review it on 2/26. Supposedly they sent the letter on 3/8 and I am just waiting on it from there.

I spoke to DFAS the other day and talked to a really helpful guy there. He explained that they get 2 batches from CSRC each month. Mid-Month and End of Month. If yours is in the Mid-Month when they receive it you should get the first installment at the beginning of the next month. If it reaches them in the EOM batch then you would have to wait another month to get it. As for the backpay they say there is up to a 60 day wait. The nice thing is that once they approve it at DFAS it gets sent to your bank the same day. You don't have to wait until the beginning of the next month for the backpay portion. He said that we won't receive a DFAS notification when they post that first CRSC Statement so just check myPay every few days. With the backpay the first you may know it is coming is when you get a note from your back about a deposit to your account.

Example:

CRSC Approved 3/8
CRSC sends to DFAS o/a 3/15
1st Monthly Payment 4/1
Backpay sometime before 5/15

CRSC approved 3/8
CRSC sends to DFAS o/a 3/30
1st Monthly Payment 5/1
Backpay sometime before 5/30

When did they say that it was approved for you? They told me that a letter was sent out on 08Mar2019. I am hoping it comes in today, especially if they are wanting more information. Still nothing in my records either.

This is why I still love these forums. I've e-mailed HRC about it, but I'm guessing they respond to those slower than they do snail mail. I think I am going to call today. Good luck gentleman, I'll keep everyone posted.

The letter head is dated for 28FEB2019. So about a week for it to hit in HRC and 8 business days or so for letter in the mail. DFAS still has nothing updated. Not sure how accurate the time frame for first payment and retro pay is. I'm hoping to see something for 01April2019 in DFAS and my bank account.

If your letter was sent out on the 8th, I would think by the end of the week something should be in the mail for you just based off of the time frame it took for myself.

Just got off the phone with HRC. I was told that every case is different, but a general rule of thumb is 7 months from start to finish. All you who got the 90 day window were lucky ducks. He was extremely helpful, the call went through quick, and I'm not longer hesitant to call HRC so I call this a win.

Much appreciated. This definitely helps. Will prevent me from checking the mail and my records everyday. I'll wait until the end of the week and check again.

Hey Ron,
can you Help me with a rough estimate of what will be my Crsc retro?

CRSC effective 05/01/2018
CRSC First Payment 02/01/2019
CRSC before garnished Amount $958
CRSC Net $925

Thank you

I am away from my house for a few weeks and as of today., i have only my phone...no Internet for laptop.

You can take the amount you now receive and multiply it by months in the retro period (using crsc eff date).
That will give you a very rough estimate. I generally do not compute retro crsc since the COLA rates change and there are other variables.

Good luck,
Ron

Ok thank you Ron

I received a CRSC Retro pay statement on DFAS MYPAY today. I still haven't received my first CRSC payment..its due April 1st. Ironically the retro payment date states March 29th I am cautiously optimistic at this point..

That’s good news. Was the amount what you expected?
