IDES/MEB TIMELINE

Hey everyone,

I'm U.S. Army AD. This forum was very instrumental to me throughout the entire IDES process, so I figured that sharing my timeline may help answer someone's question(s) with regards to IDES/MEB/VA timeline and process.

TIMELINE:
12/18/2018 - MEB initiated with three P3 profiles
12/20/2018 - Initial Counseling and PEBLO Assignment
12/21/2018 - MSC Counseling
01/06/2019 - 01/31/2018 - C&P Exams
02/20/2019 - NARSUM signed
03/13/2019 - Found unfit by PEB
03/15/2019 - VA received PEB claims
04/30/2019 - PCM provided an emergency letter to VA and PEB to expedite my claims
05/03/2019 - VA sent a clarification letter to my C&P examiner (to clarify a few things he documented on my C&P exams)
05/06/2019 - C&P examiner submitted the requested clarification information to the VA (My GEN MED C&P examiner is the BEST)
05/13/2019 - Claim closed on VA.gov
05/15/2019 - PEB received VA rating
05/30/2019 - PEBLO Counseling/Election (received rating, concurred and signed 199 (DOD 80% PDRL and VA 100% T&P)
PEBLO assured me that my LOR will be available in the next 48 hours.

This process has been a tough one but through it all, patience pulled me through. It took roughly about 5 months and 2 weeks from MEB referral to signing 199. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions and/or concerns.

Good luck everyone.

Thank you so much for sharing with us! I am waiting on my NARSUM and C&P Exam notes. The suspense is killing me but I've been reading threads to occupy my time and calm my anxiety during the down time (which there is a ton of at this point). Congratulations by the way, Tech!

Awesome info, and congrats on your progress thus far. I'm pretty new to this forum, but am finding it extremely helpful. It's comforting to know that there are so many people with similar questions/concerns that I have. My claim was closed today, so I'm hoping to hear from my PEBLO very soon(ideally next week).

I know exactly how you feel with the waiting but be rest assured that it may go faster than you expected. At the meantime, preoccupy yourself with other things like job finding, college application, and SFL-TAP CAP program. Remember that timelines differ with everyone, and you might be lucky with a shorter timeline. So hang in there, and good luck.

If your case was closed today, you'll pretty much hear from your PEBLO soon (say in about 1-2 weeks). Good luck, and let me know how it goes.

Ok that's way sooner than the 90 days he quoted me on 17 May. I'll certainly let you know. Kinda anxious, but I guess that's expected considering the magnitude of the process itself.

PEBLOs will always give you longer than expected timeline so that you don't bother them. Since your case is closed, the end is in sight. Hang in there, and keep us posted.
