Expedited MEB

I saw the VA for my C&P exams on Nov 27, Dec 3 and 5. My package was submitted to the PEB on Jan 2; however, my doctor wrote a letter for the process to be expedited. PEBLO said my package would be at the top of the stack rather than the bottom. As of right now, I’m waiting for my ratings. Does anyone have experience with an expedited PEB? How long am I looking at? I’m not in a good situation currently and need to leave. Thank you!

Currently know someone going through it and it’s not moving any faster for her. Got to the VA really quick and then stopped. I spoke with someone over at my med group and she said the VA rating office hasn’t been helpful lately and they are really cooperating and working with other agencies like they should.

I too have an expedite. It was placed while awaiting exams from QTC/VA, but it didnt start moving things until we received them.

We received the exams 26MAR and I had signed my NARSUM by 28MAR, and PEB found me unfit on the 1APR (30/31MAR were weekend). OMBUDSMAN/PEBLO say the expedite memo will also get the VA to come back with ratings faster, but I am not holding my breath.

I expect the VA to take its normal forever, but once we have ratings, the 199/TRANSPROC/Orders phase to go very fast again. From my understanding the Army will push you through with an expedite memo, but the VA may or may not

Well hope both of you get your ratings soon, kind of noticing a trend with people being at a stand still for ratings however maybe your cases will be different.

That is where I am at. Based on what I am reading on here, if I get ratings inside of 2 weeks, it means that they genuinely do consider the expedite requests. If not, they probably do not.

I can confirm that the Expedite request did speed things up with the VA in my case. I won't get into crazy details because everyone will have different experiences and I don't want to give anyone expectations that may not be realistic. I had a simple claim, a supportive chain of command and an outstanding PEBLO and OMBUDSMAN.

I can't emphasize enough how important it is to have a good relationship with your OMBUDSMAN.

So, if you have a job offer in hand, it CAN absolutely help.

Best of luck

Do you happen to have a copy of the expedite memo? I spoke to my ombudsman about 2 weeks ago and they claimed there was no such thing to expedite your VA ratings. I have a really great job waiting for me and I need to move by a certain to take it.

I do not have a copy of the expedite memo, it was prepared by the OMBUDSMAN and submitted to the PEB with my NARSUM. Maybe I will see it when i get all of my records.

I can't say for sure how right your OMBUDSMAN is. My expedite memorandum was prepared and sent to the PEB with my MEB/NARSUM. It was then a part of the packet that went to the VA, and then to PEB/PDA for my 199/Transproc requests. I do not know if you can just send an expedite request to the VA once they already have your paperwork.

I would disagree that there is no such thing, as my case has illustrated that there clearly is. The question is, whether it can be submitted after your paperwork is sent to the VA. PM me and I can give you a little more insight

I also have a job that I could start tomorrow. I have pushed this forward to my peblo and MSC but this has not caused any urgency by the VA to expedite.

Is anyone familiar with 5103 Notice Acknowledgement? It poped on my Va.gov claim status

Can you please give me a time line, because I have a job on the line and I'm wondering what I need to do to get the process expedited.
