Hi everyone

my PEBLO call me and he tell me my ratings. So I got 80dod and 90va.

with the 80 of dod I suppose to receive retirement pay?
I’m gonna have the appointment next week.

You will be retired. Whether you get DoD or VA or both depends on the length of your service. To get both you have to be over 20 years of service. Otherwise you get the higher of DoD or VA. Since you got 80% DoD, your DoD pay would be 75% (max is 75% even though you were rate 80%) of your average high three years of pay or your VA amount. Your VA pay depends on if your are married or single, how many kids you have and if you have parents that are dependent on you.

Hello,

Some of this was covered by Chaplaincharlie.

1. There will be an accounting of your retired pay.
The computation will be in your case, 75% x your average high three base pay for retirement = DoD disability retired pay
The DoD disability retired pay will be reduced by the amount of your VA compensation. If any retired pay remains, you get to keep it.

2. You will receive VA compensation at 90%.

3. There is no evidence that you qualify for CRDP which restores waived/reduced retired pay.

4. You might be eligible for Combat Related Special Compensation (CRSC). See this LINK <---

and how I know I’m qualified for CRDP?

and how I know I’m qualified for CRDP?
Btw dod it’s for 4 condition. Anxiety, depression, fibromyalgia and chronic kidney disease. That’s why they give 80 %.
I have 4 years in service (active)and is service connected. I’m married and I have 2 child.

i need to go to lawyer? Actually I don’t go yet to the lawyers.

I just Googled "CRDP" and it took me to: CRDP LINK <---

Edited to add:
With this info, "I have 4 years in service (active)and is service connected. I’m married and I have 2 child" you are not eligible for CRDP.

Alexandre32, quick question if you dont mind. For the chronic kidney disease, what stage are you at and what did you get for DOD and VA rating for it. I am currently awaiting my VA/DOD rating for CKD stage 3 and nervous what they will come back with

Hopefully yours goes smooth. i am still waiting for VA ratings, will let you know what they come back with. I am thinking at least 60 based on the "Definite Decrease in Kidney Function"

I am now fully in the PEB process. Signed the NARSUM yesterday. had conference with the JAG. He thinks I will get a low DOD percentage due to not having high abnormal labs. Doctors say I am at stage III, and VA examiner checked yes for renal dysfunction. I interpret this as a definite decrease in kidney function which should be 60%, but the JAG did not share my interpretation....

My JAG lawyer had the same opinion that i may get a low DOD percentage. I got my ratings back from VA yesterday at 60 percent for Kidneys and 40 for secondary connection of Gout (My GFR was 32 and have had 12 gout attacks in past 14 months)...... now just waiting to hear from PEBLO on DOD percentage. The Gout was not medically disqualifying because i am on medication for it, their reasoning was that i could still be in uniform when not having an attack

I see. My GFR ranges from 72 to 56 on Tests over the last year. The examiner used a test that was 72 from Jan. However several tests later showed as low as 56. He seemed to think they will only use the last test by the examiner. If that is the case, I will appeal to show new tests. Unless of course they find me Fit....which I suppose may be possible.

VA website shows closed, but nothing on e-benefits yet. PEBLO says he has received nothing yet. VA indicated they sent a letter to me. So, waiting on that communication or if it will show up on e-benefits which I check daily. It has only been a couple of days....

PEBLO said a couple more days for the 199. Still have no clue what percentages I have yet. The suspense is killing me!!!
