CG Med Board Timeline

So quick backstory, the doc requested TLD for my illness and it was denied with the request to go straight to med board. That started on the 5th of April, I just signed my Med board Narrative, no rebuttal, it said ability to continue to serve is poor, and recommend sent to IPEB. I had my Part 1 the same day, and my Part II next week. Is it usually this fast?

That is very fast. It took me from Oct 2018 to May 2019 to get my results. Then retired 31 Dec 2019.

Timelines vary greatly. Some people have only one contention others have 30+ contentions. Some contentions are cut and dried while others are more ambiguous. It is unreasonable to compare two timelines because the circumstances can be greatly different.

Both comments that precede mine are important.

Being a member of the USCG results in fewer cases to compare one's situation.

I had several experiences with Coasties on another board involving CRSC. They obviously have different resources and the timelines are not always the same as that of the other services.

Good luck,
Ron

So complete package was submitted to PSC today, so since 5th of April my board has been completed and submitted, awaiting assignment to IPEB

Prepare to wait a year before everything is done. I started my MEB board on 30 Oct and accepted the results in May and last day of AD was 31 Dec.

So new update, I received PCS orders/AD Assign to a desk job. I think everything is moving quicker than I expected. I don't think retention is in my future, and I am pretty positive they are going to make me retire. Started this April 4th and have board has been submitted and I have been removed from my operational position.

Nothing so far, I reported to my new PCS billet, the package was sent on 21MAY20. They anticipate a month or two to have it forwarded to the IPEB. The CO endorsement concurred with the Medical Officer, I am not fit for retention.....

I hope you hear somthing soon I had my package sent up to headquarters this week. Found unfit with the meb and I'm not talking to command, so idk about their feedback (crap set of marks thats about it). I've heard less than 4 months after recshipmates. For findings, but I have heard IPEB gets the package usually within a month of shipment. That being said i would check on this if I were you. Do you mind me asking what you are being boarded for? Either way please keep me in the loop as much as you feel appropriate, I will do the same. Thx ship mate.

I have Ulcerative Colitis and Anemia, and bleeding of the Colon. I will for certain, my command has been the same, but the command endorsement is attached to the package.

Hope all gets better, you will be in my prayers. For what its worth I'm being boarded for ptsd and mdd. Take care bud.

Congrats I am glad you finally got your feedback! 100 percent p&t is nice sounds like they did you justice. Did the ombudsman say anything about your orders?
