Hello @King011

1. 3.25 AD x 2.5% = 8.13% longevity multiplier
2. 567/0.30 = 1890 high three
3. 1890 x 8.13% = 153.66 longevity portion of retired pay
4. CRSC @ 10% = 142.29

5. Based on info you provided, CRSC = $142.29

Thank you Rob! I appreciate it! My CRSC percentage should be higher and I have the documentation that I’m confident will work in my favor should I put in for a reconsideration. If I understand correctly, even with a higher CRSC percentage, my CRSC can never exceed $153.66. My current CRSC claim should back date to 2008 but because of where the 10% they approved came from (VA increase from 0- 10% in 2014) it will only back date to 2014. I don’t want to waste anyone’s time. Do you think putting in for reconsideration is a worthwhile endeavor? I’m not sure if I get retro pay from 2014 forward and then reconsideration is approved, if I will receive retro pay for the difference I’ll miss between 2008 and 2014 if that makes sense. What are your thoughts on the subject? Thanks again for your time!

Hello,

You are correct about the longevity amount being a ceiling. You will receive the lesser
of
—longevity
or
—amount associated with approver CRSC percentage (VA comp tables have the amounts).

Your case:
$11 is the difference. You have to decide whether an increase of $11 maximum is worth your time.

Hello,

Using the limited info you provided:

1. 3572 high three base pay x (10.5 x 0.025) = 937.65 longevity portion of retired pay
2. All retired pay is waived due to amount of VA comp
3. CRSC @ 50% with zero dependents (none mentioned) = 893.43
4. Your CRSC is 893.43 based on your info. If you have dependents, your CRSC would be the applicable VA rate with dependents, OR 937.65 whichever is LESS.

Edited to add:
Another post showed you were married and have 5 children; therefore, your CRSC is 937.65
