    Same as with everyone else. The only exception is that the "active years" can be drilling years.

    I like the term Traditional Guardsman vs "m-day." M-day means we work in the guard for pay. Traditional Guardmen serve many days without pay.

    Can you get severance pay if you are getting VA pay and how is severance pay figured out.

    Disability Severance Pay
    To calculate disability severance pay, multiply your basic pay for two months by your number of
    combined years of active service, up to 19 years.
    A minimum of three years of service is used to compute severance pay. If the unfitting condition was
    incurred in the line of duty in a combat zone or in support of combat-related operations, a minimum of
    six years is used to compute severance pay.
