    C&P Results........Seriously?

My husband didn't agree with one of his proposed ratings that wasn't found unfitting so it didn't fall under the VARR. With the help of a VSO while he was on terminal leave, he submitted additional medical evidence for an increase in that proposed rating. When his ratings were finalized about a...

    Wondering how PCSing will work?

My husband just medically retired March 28. We did a DITY move and got the advance which is something like 60% of the allowance. Kelly

    Proposal ratings

My husband submitted additional medical evidence before he left active duty on something that they had proposed a rating of 0% for. We received the final ratings about a month after his retirement date and they had increased that 0 to 50% which raised his overall rating from 90 to 100%.

Why can't I receive AF and VA retirement if medically retired?

My husband got that TERA (you are going to lose your job because there are too many in your career field) email right before Christmas a few years ago. Totally ruined Christmas but ultimately we made the decision since he would have had his 15 years in, to take advantage of it. He kept applying...

First month's pay after med retirement-Confused

Well we got a deposit today from the VA for the difference between the DOD and VA pay. They must work it out among themselves. Next month I am guessing it will all come from the VA.

First month's pay after med retirement-Confused

I know those numbers, I just don't understand how the DOD gets their money back. They paid my husband his $2500+ but 100% VA is $3500. Since the VA is more we shouldn't have got a check from the DOD at all. So how does the DOD get paid back? And will we get a deposit at some point this month for...

First month's pay after med retirement-Confused

How does the first month's pay after a med retirement work? We received a DOD payment equal to 70% of my husband's high 3. He got his VA rating back (unofficially, we still haven't received the papers in the mail) and they did end up increasing his final rating from 90 to 100%. Because of the...

    SBP Question

I attended the briefing on the SBP with my husband and we elected to decline coverage for me but keep it for the kids since the cost was minimal. We received a certified letter for DFAS today and apparently they haven't received that paperwork so they automatically signed us up for the SBP...

    Choosing Dicharge Date

That's not a hard and fast rule though. My husband is in the middle of his 64 days of terminal. In total he had 84 days after outprocessing (20 days permissive and 64 days of terminal.)

    VARR and NLT Date

The 90 days is not a hard and fast rule. My husband's orders are dated 13 Dec 2016 and his last active duty service day is 28 Mar 2017. 64 days of terminal leave, 20 days of permissive, and the rest for outprocessing. His final out is Jan. 3rd and then he goes on PTDY/terminal. His PEBLO told us...

    Little Rock AFB Timeline

It did. We were waiting for the PEBLO to have him sign for his VARR findings (that went in his favor YAY!) His OAC lawyer had emailed him on Dec 2nd so we've known about them for over a week. The PEBLO said orders are taking anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks so who knows LOL

    VARR timeline

    Sorry to hear that.

    Little Rock AFB Timeline

How funny that two minutes after I post the above my husband calls that he's coming to pick me up because his PEBLO called. Here's hoping we get orders in 2 days too!

    Little Rock AFB Timeline

I'm amazed you got orders in 2 days! My husband is still waiting to get the call to sign for his findings. His lawyer already let him know that his VARR was successful, but he hasn't heard a peep out of his PEBLO yet. So more hurry up and wait for us!

    (Unofficial) Proposed Ratings

We just successfully submitted a VARR for PTSD/GAD to increase from 50% to 70% so it is possible. The lawyer had both of us draft letters. Mine was just about the changes in my husband, how our lives are different, etc. My husband's was more about providing specific evidence for the higher...
