Air National Guard - MEB Processing, but unit wants me to drill?

One caveat is that now that you're no longer drilling you will obviously stop accruing points.

I got my rating today. 40% DOD and 90% VA.

No additional exams by the DOD. VA is another story. Congrats and enjoy retirement!!!

Title 32 Technician Medical Retirement Scenarios (Please limit posts to "Technician Medical Retirements")

As long as your UNFITTING conditions are service connected(LOD) to title 10 or AD time and are rated 30% or greater, then you will qualify for an active duty retirement or ch. 61 which pays you as soon as you receive your retirement orders no matter your age. No waiting till your 60 like a...

Title 32 Technician Medical Retirement Scenarios (Please limit posts to "Technician Medical Retirements")

Being in a combat zone or under fire has nothing to do with a ch 61 retirement. That would only come into play for CRSC. As long as your disabilities occured while on AD then you would qualify. And as far as % goes, you are over 30% for the VA not the DOD. You will be assigned a % from the DOD...

Title 32 Technician Medical Retirement Scenarios (Please limit posts to "Technician Medical Retirements")

I get it brother. It's very confusing and stressful and at least in IL no one seemed to have any answers to anything. If you think of any other questions just ask. This forum is full of a lot of knowledge

Title 32 Technician Medical Retirement Scenarios (Please limit posts to "Technician Medical Retirements")

As long as your unfitting conditions are service connected to your title 10 deployments and they get rated over 30% going through the IDES then you will qualify for a ch 61 retirement. If they get rated less than 30% then you will get medically separated with severance. Either scenario you will...

    ch 61 question

If you're not in a drilling status, make sure that you either cancel or pay out of pocket for your SGLI otherwise you will incur a debt each month.

    TBI P&T

I agree with you on everything you have stated brother. I have found that botox shots have helped cut down on my migraines a little bit but every little bit helps. I have found a great psychologist at my local va that is great to talk to which also helps. Its like talking to my grandpa. As...

    Should i cancel my claim?

I do agree with you about claiming any and all disabilities that you feel are service connected. We have earned that right but in the end my piece of mind is more important than getting every single disability service connected. I can now officially relax knowing that there is no claim hanging...

    Preparing for VA Claims

IL has converted 20% of the our technician workforce to title 5. In fact my old position is being advertised as title 5 so it is happening. I was one of the lucky ones who got the 60/40 retirement.

Air National Guard - MEB Processing, but unit wants me to drill?

Small caveat. I was Army guard but shouldn't make a difference

Air National Guard - MEB Processing, but unit wants me to drill?

Your commander can waive drilling rights for you while your going through the medical process. Mine waived mine and I did not drill the last 2 years of my military career. Just remember if he/she does allow you to not drill, make sure you either cancel or pay your SGLI out of pocket or you will...
