TDRL came back w/unfavorable lower rating and severance offer

Yeah, unfortunately this is the only GI doc at this location who sees patients. The other one only does colonoscopies. His case was reviewed before the holidays and between the government shutdown, so we are thinking it was rushed. We went through his paperwork, and there are dozens of pages...

TDRL came back w/unfavorable lower rating and severance offer

Thanks. Is peblawyer.com legit? And would it be better to use a civilian lawyer versus a base one?

TDRL came back w/unfavorable lower rating and severance offer

Second it’s so frustrating. We are lining up a GI doc this week and getting on the phone with the TDRL liaison we were connected with.

TDRL came back w/unfavorable lower rating and severance offer

He was in the VA every few months for it. He and the doc butted heads because the doc wanted to put him on an autoimmune suppresser and my husband didn’t want to do that. He got labs almost every month, and it was documented he lost weight, became anemic and wasn’t in overall great health...

TDRL came back w/unfavorable lower rating and severance offer

My husband’s first 18 month TDRL response came today. They dropped his UC rating down to 10% and want to take him off TDRL with severance. What’s mind blowing is that his condition has gotten much worse than it ever was when he was in the Navy. Additionally, it was only reviewed by two...

    VA Rating Reconsideration Timeline

Gotcha. Who was your lawyer for the FPEB? We have a Maj. Sloane on our VARR case, and apparently she is excellent at what she does. For our VARR, we also have a note from doctor who is the head of the department where my husband was being seen for his condition, and his letter clearly states...

    VA Rating Reconsideration Timeline

You are a smart one who hasn't let the process push you around! We definitely don't trust a lot of the PEBLOs "guidance" because we have found that they rush us through the process. They told us that there was absolutely no reason to ask for a FPEB just so we had the extra time to gather new...

    VA Rating Reconsideration Timeline

I I thought the only conditions you could go to FPEB for where the referred conditions that originally got you onto the MED board in the first place. How are you able to add conditions later on? We were told they make the retirement decision vs. separation determination only based off of...

Also, just realized you were talking to Tiffany, not me. haha. I'm curious about her answers to your questions, though!!

    VA Rating Reconsideration Timeline

Hi there! We just submitted our new evidence today to our attorney. He still has to do a write-up on his behalf, and then he will submit that to the attorney in Washington, DC which will simultaneously cancel our FPEB request. We stopped looking at eBenefits to save our sanity. It's never...

    VA Rating Reconsideration Timeline

Congrats on finally getting your date. I hope it goes smoothly from here on out! We requested the formal board first and are now canceling it because we have all the new medical evidence for a proper VARR. The lawyer told us today that the new package will go to the Navy Yard in DC for...

Thanks for responding. Gosh, that's frustrating and disappointing!

    VA Rating Reconsideration Timeline

If we are asking for a VA reconsideration and sending in new evidence, when we get our (hopefully new) ratings, do we still get to pick our separation date? Or does the military pick it because we extended the process by choosing to have a re-evaluation? TIA!

Ratings back from PEB. NOT HAPPY. Appeal is happening.

After speaking with the local VA rep today, he said once we submit our new evidence that it should automatically be bumped up to 50% after we get out of the Navy. It just can't be dealt with now, which is rather annoying.

Ratings back from PEB. NOT HAPPY. Appeal is happening.

I wonder, too, if hiring a civilian lawyer for my husband's case would be wise to do. Especially since the letter from the VA addressed him by his middle name (which also happens to be his grandfather's name who also served in the Navy years ago) and put the wrong social on his preliminary...
