Could applying end up costing us money?

I called the msin VA benefits line and had to wait as the lady had to get someone to show her how to access the screen with the pending balance. They can do it, they just don't get trained on how to do it.

Cassdw70, all I can tell you is that you have nothing to lose and your odds are better than a lottery ticket. The disappointment only stung for a few hours and then I woke up and carried on as normal. The sun still rose this morning.

Well, I received my letter from the Army, they upgraded my rating from 10% to 20%, but still no retirement. I actually predicted this exact outcome at the beginning. Oh, well, it was fun to dream for a few years anyway. Best wishes, I hope you guys have better results.

I actually want to be more hopeful than that for you guys about to transition. I have more than survived, I've had an awesome life in the past 13 years. Not perfect, I still wake up sore, but really good. I went through an early midlife crisis when I separated, but I discovered that there was...

Here is what happened for me, a little different situation, but the principles may help you understand your situation. I was, and still am, a single income household with kids: Disability discharged (13 years total, last 10+ active, prior NG, E-7) Bone spur against spinal cord in neck/numbness...

Also, I was a high performing Sergeant First Class until I was injured. I didn't get a bad NCOER, but it pretty much said that I was a decent guy with a pulse. I was treated terribly by the Group DCO and a few others. That was for a year and 9 months from 2002 until release in 2004. My point is...

Try to get the medic and any other witnesses to the incident to fill out sworn statements on the time and place in combat. Depending on the cause of the injury, it could be considered combat related, but not necessarily unless you were injured by an instrument of war. I'd still get the sworn...

Same here. For better or worse, the 2015 crowd is getting close. All I can think about is everything I would have explained differently at that physical, if I had only known how the system worked back then. Maybe my fear of him thinking I was a whiney marshmallow would have come true, but he...

As a point of reference, I was told on May 25th: "Your case is in final PDBR processing which includes an administrative review and final PDBR signature. Once it is signed, it will be forwarded to the Army, and once received, they will have 45 days to render their decision, then another 10 days...

I just wanted to start a new thread on this topic. http://boards.law.af.mil/AF_PDBR_CY2015.htm Mine isn't there, but it is interesting to read similar findings. I was given a 0% for hip pain, among other things, but someone else was upgraded from 0% to 10%. I do advise against making too...

    Received PDBR Letter

I'm in the same boat. Any rhyme or reason to why they skip around? They are supposed to start them in the order received, but obviously some take a bit longer. I would not have thought mind would be too complicated.

Hey, Tot, my brother, In case you haven't heard anyone say it in a while, thank you for your service. I'm so sorry for the pain you are in and the frustration you have experienced. I just want you to know that it wasn't just for nothing or some greedy cause. Sure, mistakes were made and a few...

    MEB/Rating question

I had a similar situation in 2002, a bone spur pressing on my spinal cord, and surrounding stenosis. A neurologist at Walter Reed told me my parachuting days were over and that if they didn't "fix" me, then I was out of the Army. The fix seemed risky and my neurologist advised against it and...

I hate you were disappointed. As a former paratrooper I understand your frustration with missed opportunities. I remember thinking that range of motion must have meant my neck would lock, not just that it hurt. I also downplayed some pains, out of ego too. I was in an SF unit and my command...
