    Reserve Retired Pay Calculation

Wow...I'm in total shock that my PEBLO has misinformed me. Man, I was struggling to get those last points to think I needed to reach 10 years...I redid the calculatiions based on SullySull48's recommendation and its a $800-$1,000 difference. Incredible! On the other hand, did your PEBLO or PDA...

    Reserve Retired Pay Calculation

I've been going through the MEB/PEB the last five months and have thought I've seen it all. However, today topped it. So, to explain, I'm a Reservist, found unfit and just received my orders for retirement in mid-July. Long story short, I have 3519 points, which translates to 9 years and 9...

    My Timeline

You'll probably see it close and then a new claim open up, which will then close within a couple days. Most times, ebenefits updates before your PEBLO gets word. Look for (DES) in the "Disabilities" section. That will tell you when it closed. That's what mine did. I just signed my 199 yesterday...

    Compensation

So she called back and did verify. Reservist will receive VA Comp tax free and the difference between the VA Pay and DoD Pay, so your calculation is correct. Appreciate the knowledge Ron!

I had my 199 counseling today, the PEBLO doesn't even know this? She's working on verifying it....wow!

22+ Years of service and going to PEB, Medical Retirement or Regular retirement

Note, I never had a Line of Duty (LoD), but incurred the bulk of my issues after returning from mobilization. I believe my case manager submitted a LoD Waiver Memorandum (I'll look this up exactly what it is called- exception?) prior to the MEB beginning. Perhaps I'm over-reading Chaplain...

    Greeting New to the forum

You go through MEB first, if found unfit you then go to PEB. It's near impossible to comment on "how common is it for the PEB to find you unfit and change MOS" Best of luck

22+ Years of service and going to PEB, Medical Retirement or Regular retirement

Yes, you'll be eligible for pay immediately if found unfit and over 30% by your service. You'll be eligible for Tricare Prime as well. Calculate your retirement. You'll likely make up any difference in income with the cheaper Tricare and possible differential pay in your retirement.

    VA ratings return?

My packet was sent to PEB on 11 April, returned from the VA on 9 May with ratings, PEBLO contacted me 11 May. So, slightly less than a month. I'll be signing my 199 on Monday. I have no plans to appeal.

Ron, Thanks for the quick reply. You are correct, the fallacy of choosing between the two has been running rampant which is part of the reason I posed the question on the board. Thanks for the reassurance!

    Compensation

Just received my 199. Recommend PDRL which is wonderful and was rated 70% both Army/VA. I'm a Reservist and when my PEBLO estimated my compensation, the Army pay was $3340 (not eligible for CRSC). My VA pay is $1481.48. I know I can't receive both concurrently as this point, so my question is...
