    BCNR success

Anyone have any success routing a change of discharge through the BCNR process? If I were to discharge as honorable and route a appeal through the BCNR for a med retirement, I know it’s feasible but unsure about any likelyhood of success. Any success stories out there? I received 70 VA and 0...

PEB formal boards postponed due to Covid-19?

My PEBLO has informed me that they are currently not hearing any formal boards because of Covid-19. Anyone else confirm this? FYI was rated 70 VA and 0 DOD and was in the process of waiting for an appeal. Thanks for the info in advance.

    Appeal of ratings

I received 70 VA. I was told by my PEBLO that I will not receive any severance for the separation because the DOD found it not service connected at all. That is why I am appealing. I just do not know if it’s worth doing it after through the other process. I heard the success rate is much lower...

    Genetic Disorder

Update: I was rated at 70% VA and 0% DOD. Looking into an appeal but that is for another thread. Best of luck to y’all.

    Appeal of ratings

I was rated at 70% VA and 0% DOD. I have a genetic condition that the VA rated since it may have been “aggregated” by my service. The DOD found the opposite, saying that it was the normal progression of the disease. My attorney recommended an appeal because it “couldn’t hurt”. Today I found that...

    Genetic Disorder

Yea, that is upsetting for you and I am sorry to hear that. I will definitely take your advice and prepare to fight. Thank you.

    Genetic Disorder

Yes, I have a few case precedents to hopefully amplify my case for aggravation. I thought it was the Military and the VA who had the burden of proof. They have to prove that your case was not aggravated in anyway, without a doubt. Is that not the case to your understanding. Good luck on...

    Combining referred diagnoses

I was just diagnosed with a pretty serious genetic disease and have a lot of anxiety and depression resulting from the diagnosis. I am also wondering if my documented "chronic adjustment disorder" will be a referred condition linked to my genetic disease or not. Let me know what you guys find...

    Genetic Disorder

Good Afternoon, I have recently been diagnosed with a pretty rare and serious genetic disorder. My IDES lawyer is confident (95%) that this condition will be found to be aggravated by Military Service (USMC) and thus will be covered. He is confident because there is ample case precedents for...

    Genetic diseases

Yea, that’s why I’m asking these questions. I’ll have to talk with my doctor about aggregated symptoms. But given my job, aircraft painter and composite repair mechanic, I wouldn’t be suprised if it the chemicals somehow impacted me. So if you don’t mind me asking, after 8 years, they just gave...

    Genetic diseases

Mike, First, thank you for your response. So I would have to show how the Military aggravated my condition if I were to receive anything? How does that work for certain diseases like Bone Cancer, Diabetes, or Sickle Cell? Diseases that may also be linked genetically to a person. Thanks again!
