I got MEB for left knee residuals and went on terminal leave Feb 27th 2020 that ends on 26 March and received pay for March 1/15... when should I expect to have severance?

From what I recall from the briefs, basically take your last day (26MAR), round to the last day of the month (31MAR), then add a month (30APR).

So I received mine right on my last day of AD. I hadn't actually even officially separated. Is this weird?

I also received it all in one lump sum as far as I can tell. I need to check on mypay and report back. But the amount seems my severance pay amount minus the proposed taxes.
DOes this sound right to folks?

I was supposed to get my 2nd to last check tomorrow, then final pay go into audit (DSP) after the 22nd of oct(final day) but DFAS shows I am not getting paid as my finance office already started the audit on October 5th apparently so I am thinking I will be getting mine like you, the day I get out. Did you get your whole last month audited or just the final check and severance?

Whole kit'n caboodle. 10 days of leave buyout, last two weeks of pay, and all severance (minus taxes)

Sorry to bump an old thread but I am in the process right now of getting out, I just got the email from my PEBLO that the 199 is ready for me to sign tomorrow. I am wondering about severance pay I was told at my legal brief there was no taxes on it because I would have to pay it back from my VA checks. But I see you guys/gals talking about getting paid the severance minus the taxes. If anyone could clarify that'd be great.

I pulled this info together in December 2019. Reference included.

Disability Severance Pay Issues—Taxes

Taxability
.

Disability Severance Pay is not taxable or subject to federal income tax withholding for members meeting 1 or 2 below:

1. You have a combat related injury or illness as determined by your military service at separation that:

Resulted directly from armed conflict; or

Took place while you’re engaged in extra-hazardous service; or

Took place under conditions simulating war, including training exercises such as maneuvers; or

Was caused by an instrumentality of war.

2. You are receiving VA disability compensation or you have received notification from the VA approving such compensation.

Note:
Due to limits of the current Defense Finance and Accounting (DFAS) pay system, taxes will be withheld on active duty cases separating with severance pay. Procedures exist for the local servicing finance office to coordinate with DFAS-Indianapolis for refund of the taxes withheld. The request and required documentation must be received at DFAS by 31 December of the year in which the severance payment was received. In the alternative, the Soldier may seek a refund when filing their tax return. For more information on filing with the IRS contact the Servicing Finance Officer or USAPDA.
