  • Good morning,

I am a reservist who will reach 20 good years this June of 2021. I recently received a 100% permanent and total rating from the VA. I was planning on normal retirement, but now I’m considering a medical evaluation board. 1) will a Med board put my VA rating at risk?

    * also when I informed my CDR my intent of going through a MED Board he said this would take too long and wants me to find another unit. This doesn’t sound right to me. Where can I get legal advice?

    Respectfully,
    Oscar

What is the benefits of choosing LDES if he has a VA P&T already? Can you elaborate please!

Speed is the primary benefit. If the VA has already stated what the disability rating is, you can speed up an MEB by several months by going LDES. This allows the service to state what they deem the unfitting condition to be and don't have to confer with the VA.

    Thanks for the inputs
