SECNAV CORB POLICY LETTER 2010-3 PERMISSIBLE INFORMATION FOR PEB ADJUDICATION 1.0

No permission to download
This policy letter is important as it limits the ability of the Navy FPEB to consider matters from this site or other non-official websites.
"Accordingly, non-official internet sites that contain personal information pertaining to a service member appearing before the board are not permissible sources of information."

This is a very important protections for members of this site. However, I would also point out that while the PEB may not cite to posts on this site as a source of information, the PEB members could potentially not cite any posts, but instead really form an opinion in their mind without citation to any post. Bottom line, in my many years of representing members before the PEBs, I have not seen this issue present itself. However, I think this letter is interesting because any post or statement by a member on this cite would seem to be not a valid point for the PEB to consider. (Aside from the protection from this letter, I tend to think that the greater protection is the fact that the PEB handles such a high volume of cases that any outside investigation is highly unlikely).
