    Severance Pay Tax Return Question

After going through the air force MEB process and now fighting this DFAS process I’m shocked ANY money moves in the timelines in which they do. The level of incompetence from every level...every entity mind you “subject matter experts” in the process is MIND-BLOWING. But at least this is...

Stay on them like a fly to a rotting corpse. Call every monday and friday inquiring about an update.

    Severance Pay Tax Return Question

Here is the link for same year recoupment: https://www.dfas.mil/debtandclaims/submitclaim.html It’s the last option to submit a claim if within the same CY you received your severance pay. I separated 27Nov. I submitted my ticket 10Dec and they closed it 14Dec saying their records show I...

    AF reserves hypogonadism MEB

Your situation sucks...sorry to hear that. But like most have said, this should go away if there’s nothing in your “entire” medical record both civilian and military. I’d say hit up the IG but I did and when they saw it was medical they basically went hands off and said we’re not doctors... As...

    Chronic Kidney Disease Rating

Congrats on being RTD. Now get ready to fight the next MEB if you remain non-deployable. Get a hold of the MSD (medical standards directory). It’s the quick view of whether conditions meet the criteria for Retention/FC1/2/3/GBC standards etc. There a link somewhere on this forum with it. Also...

    “Lethality” Memo

@golfrnut thanks. I read through the DODi the other night. In my case it’s still virtually impossible as the SECAF already decided on my MEB case...albeit an incomplete case...

@golfrnut do you happen to have that guidance?

    “Lethality” Memo

I have but never went that far. It’s for not at this point. SECAF decided on my case. I’m out the door end of Nov. I do plan on outside counsel to reattack the AFBCMR.

    “Lethality” Memo

I got OAC representation after my IPEB appeal. They were undermanned and overworked and for ADCs seemed to lack any authority to get things done for PEB clients...i did all the legwork and funneled it through my OAC which is standard. My OAC didn’t do anything wrong/sketchy unlike the medical...

    “Lethality” Memo

Has anyone entered the IDES/MEB process in the past year/year and half are is getting the overwhelming notion that you are being hosed? What i know is my Timeline from IRILO to SECAF appeal disposition took 13 months. My PEBLO initially explained a backlog of the MEB process of 18 months. My...

Again you’re thinking operationally. You have to discredit medical professionals with medical professionals. I have no doubt u can do exactly what you say. I tried the same argument. There’s a DoDI 1338 i believe that is written so vaguely and generically any condition can be spun to meet the...

    Commander's Letter *before* MEB started?

I thought the EXACT same thing. My 469 from my PCM originally had me code 37. I did some digging and come to find out my condition based on the MSD is automatically grounds for an MEB i.e. code 37 which is why i ASSUME my PCM checked that box.

Air Force code 31 and PCS

If you’re going to be placed in an MEB they’ll code you 37. That should stop a PCS although a 31 should also... If you get a 37, the way i interpreted the reg was it is supposed to remove the code 31 as the 37 is more restrictive. That did not happen for me. For the duration of my MEB i had a...

The MEB is a medical process, not an operational process. I had the same issue. My PCM specifically said i cannot take a PT test (which was false but fit the narrative to start an MEB). Operationally my leadership wouldn’t touch it, they said medical said X who are we to trump that. You need...

    SAFPC Appeal

I appealed my FPEB decision in March. SAF team signed their decision 10Sep. I got word from my PEBLO 14Sep. I’m out of the service 27Nov.

Thoughts on this NARSUM prognosis? Fit/Unfit?

Not getting the outcome desired sucks man. Trust me i figured the same, yeah i’ll hit that 30% threshold easy, but the kicker is its 30% for your MEBable condition which no one is really sure of until you get the VA rating back and start digging. Good luck man.

Thoughts on this NARSUM prognosis? Fit/Unfit?

My CC said the same “do not retain” and i was also not World Wide Qualified (WWQ). It’s an ALC code 37 i believe...now with that code, your CC saying do not retain, and the untimely processing of your MEB with the SECDEFs push to remove “broken” troops, i’d say with a fair amount of certainty...
