PDBR decisions for spine injuries seems like a cruel joke

The rating system for spinal is a joke anyway. I've had 11 back surgeries, 3 post medical retirement and function much worse than other injuries that are rated much higher. If I didn't have to work I wouldn't but my final rating was 70% with 30% for my back. The range of motion test was not done...

    fusion surgery failure

That's not enough time to tell, once the surgery is done and the nerves decompress that pain can be present for up to 18 months, with online accounts of longer. At 90 days all you will know is if your fusion has started to fuse.

Ratings for DDD with S1 radiculopathy

They will rate them separate and permanent. When I was retired via PEB I received 30% for DDD and 10% for radiculopathy, both permanent. At the time I had 7 or 8 back surgeries and have had 2 more since retirement. To include a spinal chord simulator and as of late a fusion. Have it documented...

    Quetion for Jason Perry

As my time is winding down I have 3 weeks left until terminal. The thing that always stuck with me was the disregard for the VA doc to perform my C&P properly when measuring my ROM. I do plan on an appeal, but I've seen on here that this is not an isolated incident and that's it's quite common...

Ethical Dilemma (Blow the whistle or not?)

I also would go to the press, however I think it's in bad taste to do it on the 4th and would try and push out the date. How in the world was it okay in his head to talk about these things in front of your mother? This guy has no business dealing with anyone let alone injured service members. I...

I was rated as a group, two or more joints with arthritis.

    Wait Time For Providence, RI

I finally got my orders on Friday, but since it took AFPC soooo long to fill out a piece of paper they ended up pushing my retirement out a month so my official retirement date is 27 November. I also have 97 days of leave and 30 days of permissive TDY from my Commander so my final out will be 23...

    Wait Time For Providence, RI

Mine also began in August and I'm still waiting on orders but got an email today that said I was second in line and should have them Fri/Mon. How long did it take for the movers to get to your stuff once you set up your move?

VA has had my package since 20140212

I was found unfit in December and received ratings in May and that was through Providence one of the quickest RO for processing. I've been waiting four weeks just for orders after signing my ratings.

    Post PDBR...Tricare Reimbursment

Not saying it's right but since Tricare also has premiums for retirees they could be saying you would of been paying premiums either way. have you tried to get back the difference in what you did pay from premiums versus what you would of paid to Tricare for premiums? I can tell you that I have...

    Sleep apnea question

I don't know if there has been any successful links as of yet made between burn pits and OSA or other disabilities. If there has can someone please add what they know. I do know that prior to a certain year the burn pits in Balad/Camp Anaconda were not using incinerators for burning medical...

    Wait Time For Providence, RI

I'm going to be forced to sell back, my retirement date was requested for 29 Oct but that was assuming I signed out of the base on 17 June. For me it doesn't make sense to sell back leave since I will receive all my allowances while on terminal, BAS, COLA and BAH. The 3 of those are $3500 a month.

    Wait Time For Providence, RI

Initially I had 3 referred but after I submitted an IMR I ended up with 4 referred and something like 14 claimed. My timeline was pretty par for the course. One thing I can recommend is that if and when you go over 125 days waiting on ratings that you call the 1800 #, once you are over 125 they...

    Wait Time For Providence, RI

I expected it from the VA, I was told it would go over all proposed time lines, that doesn't make it okay. I didn't expect the same treatment when it came to the Air Force, at least I have more latitude when it comes to the AF part of the process. I know what to say and I know who to call if...

    Wait Time For Providence, RI

The problem I have is that I have to retire at the end of a month so if they push me out anymore I'll have to sell back leave because my dates will no longer match up. I believe if you're being separated it's not a concern, honestly I'm not too worried I haven't been required to go to work since...

    Wait Time For Providence, RI

So my wait goes on for my orders. I called the Air Force Personnel Center last week to inquire and they told me I'd have them this week. Well I called back today to make sure they are on track and they told me possibly another 2 weeks. If that's the case it'll be over a month from the time I...

Well said, I'm just waiting on orders but I can't wait until I have the freedom to say what I like as well as put any bumper sticker on my truck that I would like.

That's what I was told by my PEBLO and here's a cut and paste from the policy letter that she sent me, be advised that this only applies to AF. Under the first bullet labeled(2) it says the AF adds 30 days for processing of OCONUS and 20 days if CONUS. The way she explained it to me is if I bust...
