I talked to the va debt department yesterday and they informed me that after 2008 they started allowing individuals the option to take a severance pay and still receive va disability as long as your condition was caused while in combat or supporting a combat mission . If you're medically retired from the service can you still collect a severance package? I found something that said you could as long as your disabilities are service connected. Just curious if it's possible.
