    Tip for Air Force Retired

I just wanted to share a tip with those that have received their retirement orders from the Air Force and need to get their ID Card. If your DEERS profile doesn't reflect the change to retired then there's a good chance that the ID office on base, (especially if it isn't an Air Force base) won't...

    ID card issue

I had a pretty similar experience trying to get my new ID today. I went to a marine base and they said they couldn't help me until DEERS is updated to reflect retirement. They had me call the Air Force Deers Project Office but that office just told me that I should've been able to do it there on...

Yes, I received orders almost exactly 4 months after completing the SBP briefing

    Approved...timeline and a question

So I FINALLY received an envelope containing my new orders and DD214 from the air Force. I was notified of the decision in January. The letter says that they've notified DFAS of the change and to go to them with any questions about back pay. Good thing that I'm not depending on these benefits...

    Approved...timeline and a question

Congratulations on your retirement. My timeline is looking very similar to yours. I completed the SBP briefing around the end of March and I'm still awaiting my new orders. The air Force definitely seems to be the slowest to process everything.

The only thing I've received is a letter saying that the SBP briefing was completed and to be patient because there is a backlog of people they need to process. It's been six months now, since I received the decision letter. Still no orders.

This was the response that I got from emailing the PDBR. Not very helpful but I guess it's something: We have received your SBP acknowledgement and are waiting on your Retirement orders and DDF 214. Once we receive them we will email them to you. Respectfully, Physical Disability Board of...

I'd like to know what's next too. It's been over a month since my SBP briefing as well. I emailed the pdbr for an update but didn't get a response.

I feel your pain. I was notified of my retirement in January and I still haven't received any other documentation. The only thing I have been able to do is my SBP briefing. You have to call 210-565-2273 and speak to a Ms. Adams. She's really hard to get ahold of because the number doesn't let...
